You can also find their staff contacts and find the right person to talk to by going to the appropriate section on their site. If you are in the health vertical or just great at what you do you may even want to apply for a job there.</p>

Interestingly enough the kids start to discuss healthy items for eating which I believe is really important. If you can get kids to adopt healthy eating practices from when they are young it is that much more likely to stick so that they remember it into the future.</strong></p>
<p>They provide multiple tips throughout some of the videos and you can check out what we mean below int he video. If you have kids how do you teach them how to eat healthy and stay away from fast food and other bad things? This is a really cute way for kids to get engaged in what is good for them in a fun and easy to remember way. It just show that big companies can do the right thing and still make money and they don&#8217;t have to always be so evil. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below about this campaign and what other tips you think that they should recommend to kids.</p>
<p>When I am a parent someday I will definitely want to find fun ways like this to teach my kids what they should be eating!</p>

<p><strong>What your skin does for you</strong></p>
<p>Your skin is made of three layers. The outer layer is the epidermis, the middle layer, the dermis and the lower layer is called the hypodermis. The skin performs many protective skills such as warding off bacteria, injury to your body and UV radiation. For 24 hours a day it is helping to regulate the temperature of your body, it understands the sensation of touch and protects the rest of you from wear and tear.</p>
<p>Although you can quickly see skin damage after spending a short time out in the sun without any protection, your skin is guarding your body from the ultraviolet rays from the sun.</p>
<p>One of the greatest qualities that skin possesses is the ability to protect your body from dehydrating because it stops your body from losing any water that it has absorbed. Your skin will react by calling or heating your body’s temperature so that you remain safe and healthy.</p>
<p>In a similar manner to all of your organs, as you age, your skin will lose some of its functionality. Your skin tone and skin texture will change and if you don’t treat your skin and treat it properly you may lose some of its protective nutrients which is why it may become dull and wrinkles will begin to appear.</p>
<p><strong>How your skin works</strong></p>
<p>The outer layer of your skin is stretchy and flexible so that it can move to match your body’s requirements while constantly acting as an obstacle against forces from the environment. The melanocyte cells produce the melanin which will show you how you look from the outside world with the colour of your hair, skin and eyes.</p>
<p>The middle layer of your skin is a mixture of collagen, reticular fibres and elastin. It’s the elastin which helps your skin move without tearing and the collagen provides the power. This is where your lymph glands and blood vessels are located, along with hair follicles and your sweat glands.</p>
<p>The bottom level of your skin is a mixture of fact and connective tissue with its main duty to act as an insulator for your body.</p>
<p>Although your skin is a natural substance, it is the duty of the owner to keep it fit and healthy. Preventing sun damage by too much exposure to the sun’s rays is important because a failure to act properly will show as lines and wrinkles and potentially skin damage and skin cancer at a later stage. A lack of hydration will show also as wrinkles and early ageing which may lead to ill health. By not looking after your skin properly you may see some pigmentation over the course of time which will show as light or dark patches across your skin.</p>
<p>Your skin will go through a significant amount of battering and bruising over the years and you may develop scars, warts and other skin lesions. Whether you choose to use chemically focused creams to help your skin maintains healthiness over the years or whether you look only for natural alternatives, it is important that you constantly maintain the quality of your skin for it to carry out its important tasks for years to come.</p>

We all know that there are foods we should avoid in order to keep our hearts healthy, but it can be incredibly difficult to change our eating habits. Whether you&#8217;re currently suffering with heart disease or can see it coming down the road, here are five tips to creating your own, heart-healthy diet:</p>
<h3>1.Portion Size</h3>
<p>Do you know how much meat constitutes a portion? What about fruits and vegetables? If you use an average-sized dinner plate, and fill it up at each meal, you&#8217;re eating too much . One of the easiest ways to start controlling your portion size is to change the size of your plate. Start using a salad plate instead of your dinner plate. Not only will a full salad plate contain closer-to-correct portion sizes, but looking at a full plate will trick your mind into believing that you&#8217;re eating more than you are.</p>
<h3>2.Turn it Green</h3>
<p>One of the best things that you can do for your heart is to limit the amount of meat that you consume. Instead, look for recipes that are built around a fruit or vegetable. Vegetables and fruits are naturally low in calories and high in fiber; both are perfect for your new heart-healthy diet. If you need to add fruits and vegetables into your diet, make sure that they&#8217;re fresh or frozen. For example, a whole apple is great as a snack; a piece of apple pie is not. To begin adding more green stuff to your diet, aim to have at least one serving with each meal and build from there.</p>
<h3>3.No More White</h3>
<p>The easiest way to avoid bad carbs is to simply keep anything white off of your plate. This means no more white bread, white pasta, white rice or things made with white flour. Instead, choose whole-grain options where they&#8217;re available. You can easily find whole-wheat pasta in your grocery store, along with whole-grain bread, brown rice and even whole-wheat flour. When choosing potatoes, pick out a few lovely yams; they&#8217;re great both baked and mashed.</p>
<h3>4.Trim the Fat</h3>
<p>If you follow a 2,000-calorie-a-day diet, you should limit your intake of saturated fat to 14 grams; less if possible. Limit trans fats to two grams or less per day. The easiest way to limit the amount of fat that you eat is to trim your meat. Additionally, cook with olive oil instead of butter, top your baked potato with salsa instead of butter and sour cream, and become an avid label reader. By making these few simple changes, you&#8217;ll drastically reduce the amount of fat you&#8217;re currently consuming.</p>
<h3>5.Skip the Salt</h3>
<p>If you&#8217;re addicted to salt, it&#8217;s time to shake the habit. Your total intake of salt, assuming that you&#8217;re healthy, should be less than a teaspoon a day; including the salt that&#8217;s already in your food. If you eat prepared foods, look for low-sodium options. If you add handfuls of salt to your dinner plate, substitute your salt with with herbs and spices. Avoid adding salt to your meals as you&#8217;re cooking, or look for salt substitutes that you can use instead.</p>
<p>By knowing how to eat properly, you&#8217;re going a long way in ensuring that your diet is heart-healthy. Limit your portion sizes, choose lean meats and look for whole-grain options. By following these simple rules, you&#8217;ll not only be doing your heart a favor, but you just may whittle away your waistline at the same time.</p>

The motto is emblazoned on staff members&#8217; tee-shirts, and even printed on a sign that directs members to the exit as they drive through the parking lot.</p>
<p>Tying this slogan to the nursing industry is simple. Clearly, one of the goals of any dedicated nurse is to help patients live the best quality of life possible. However, there is a growing concern throughout the nursing world that nurses are not practicing the same lifestyle practices that they suggest for their patients. Because of that trend, some industry leaders are advocating for programs that remind nurses how to take care of themselves as thoroughly as they take care of others. Suzy Harrington is the director of American Nurses Association&#8217;s Center for Health, Safety and Wellness, and during a recent interview on Nurse.com, a website devoted to industry developments, she clarified that, she too, has noticed many nurses who put the care of others ahead of their own well-being.</p>
<h3>Steps in the Right Direction</h3>
<p>Grand Canyon University is a partner in a program simply known as Well Nurse. It aims to provide nurses with recipes, exercise program suggestions, and other educational resources they can use to help themselves make positive changes. Behavior alterations don&#8217;t happen overnight, and people often experience frustration if they try to change too many things, too soon. People also have to be in the right mindset in order for a change to occur permanently. Perhaps that&#8217;s why people who make a New Year&#8217;s resolution on the fly, just because their friends are doing so, don&#8217;t always stick with their original intentions.</p>
<p>Nurses who participate in programs geared to encourage healthier lifestyle habits will probably get coached to mentally work through any possible barriers that might crop up, as well. If you&#8217;ve ever undertaken a large task, you probably already realize that having an action plan for dealing with challenges is just as important as being determined to follow through.</p>
<h3>All in This Together</h3>
<p>People who already live healthy lifestyles can be a great role model for those who are working hard to change their own ways. Individuals who are in a mentorship role can make a positive impact by merely suggesting that no one is perfect, and everyone has areas that could use some improvement. That principle is part of the reason why some behavior modification programs are done in a group setting. Some initiatives are very large, and even span across health systems in multiple states, while others might be limited to one ward in a hospital. Generally, the overall size is not as important as the attitude of the group. A spirit of teamwork brings encouragement to people who might be experiencing a momentary struggle.</p>
<p>For many people, lifestyle changes force them to progress down an uneven path. Large differences in behavior, such as going on a diet in an effort to lose weight, or putting aside a pack of cigarettes, are things that require commitment. People must have an “all or nothing” viewpoint, and this is often a scary feeling. However, the support of others is instrumental to a single person&#8217;s success. Because of this, behavior modification programs that focus on nursing can promote a spirit of teamwork that not only helps individual nurses live in a healthier way, but makes patient care more efficient, too.</p>

<p>Breast cancer occurs when the cells in the breast divide and grow beyond normal control. Many times the tell tail sign is a bump that is large enough to be felt in the breast. Ten years is due to slow growth but there are aggressive tumors, which grow at a more rapid rate. There are two types of breast cancers Invasive and non-invasive. As long as we know, breast cancer has been a scary thought for every woman. Knowing what it is and the differences in the types of breast cancers are a necessity. Another fact that should not be ignored is that both men and women can get breast cancer and it is not limited to women only.</p>
<h3>Invasive vs. Non-Invasive</h3>
<p>Invasive cancer happens when the abnormal cells from the ducts and lobes grow out into the surrounding tissue and organs. This type of cancer can spread into the liver, lungs and bones traveling though the blood stream. The Non-Invasive cancer grows within you’re your milk ducts but have not spread into the surrounding organs or tissue.</p>

<p>Entertaining is an important part of the holidays but can mean lots of plates of unattended food that an enterprising cat or dog can get into. Make sure to keep a lid on trash cans and keep all spicy, fatty, and sweet food away from pets.</p>

<p>If you are Christmas shopping for your pet this year be sure to pick safe options for them to play with. Look for toys that are virtually indestructible like Kongs as dogs can rip apart stuffed toys and swallow the pieces. <p>Are you ready for some old school training exercises for the cage? These classic exercises are just what the doctor ordered to shake up you day and provide a new challenge to your body. Squat racks and power cages are fairly underused pieces of equipment in today&#8217;s modern gym. But their storied past have built many a great body and can do wonders for yours.</p>
<p>So step into the cage and let&#8217;s put some beef on those bones!</p>
<p><strong>Cage Exercises</strong></p>
<p>We are going to touch on some of the more underused exercises that a lot of people just don&#8217;t know about or use anymore. Most people know you can bench or squat in a rack or cage. In fact cages are a great way to build up strength safely with certain exercises. But that is another article.</p>
<p><strong>High Pull</strong> &#8211; This exercise is great for building bigger traps and shoulders as well as a little biceps and forearm work. Ideally the form is a lot like doing a front row. But you start with your knees bent and use an exaggerated hip dip and push with your legs to start the bar moving with your traps and shoulders pulling hard to get the weight up. The finish position should have the bar at neck height while your legs are extended and you are up on your toes. The legs help drive the weight upward. In the cage the bars should be set at knee height.</p>
<p><strong>Sumo Squats</strong> &#8211; You start out similar to a normal barbell squat but you place your feet slightly wider with your toes pointed out at 10 and 2 o&#8217;clock. You will squat down until your thighs are parallel to the ground before exploding upward. The support bars in the cage should be set about an inch lower than your thighs at parallel. This one really works the adductors and glutes much more than a regular squat.</p>
<p><strong>Bulgarian Split Squat</strong> &#8211; The cage is used for this one due to balance issues for most people. But this exercise will absolutely crush your quads and help teach better balance. Setup a bench at the back of the cage a full stride behind you. Setup like a normal squat but extend one leg back and rest your instep on top of the bench for balance. Keep your back flat and bend both knees as you go down until your front thigh is parallel to ground. Hold for a second and slowly rise back up. You can do reps one leg at a time or alternate.</p>
<p><strong>Reverse Pushup</strong> &#8211; This exercise hits the upper back muscles in a way no other exercise can replicate. Set a bar about 3 to 4 feet above the ground on the rack. Lie underneath the rack and grab the bar in a normal overhand grip, shoulder width apart. Keep your body flat and straight and then pull your chest to the bar. Pause and then lower yourself slowly.</p>
<p><strong>Bench Lockout</strong> &#8211; This exercise is specifically made for increasing your bench press power. Set up a bench and bar in the rack. The support bars should be set at about the halfway point on your bench motion. Starting from this point will replicate the portion of the bench that requires more shoulder and triceps with less chest muscle input. This way you can work on that triceps strength that often fails during the press. Lower the weight slowly and pause and hold as it touches the bars before exploding up.</p>

<p>For a great deal of people, smoking is literally the habit of a lifetime. The vast majority of smokers begin to do so during their teenage years, with many continuing to smoke until the day they die. One solution to this problem is Supplemental Medical Insurance, which will cover the gap between what Medicare will and will not pay for. It is essentially additional insurance for any expenses that do not fall under medicare. To qualify for supplemental medical insurance, enrollment in both Part A and Part B of the Medicare program is required.</p>
<p>Depending on the plan one chooses, one may be covered for out-of-pocket expenses such as deductibles, co-payments and coinsurance. Some plans may make payments in one lump sum or spread the payments out over time. These payments may be used to cover medication, food, health related transportation, lost wages or any other unforeseen expense incurred as a result of injury or illness.</p>
<h2>Medigap</h2>
<p>Medigap is one of the most common supplemental insurance plans and is sold by private insurance companies to individuals already enrolled in Medicare. Depending on the policy, one may also be eligible for certain health and preventative services when outside the United States of America.</p>
<p>Along with Medigap, the three most widely sold health insurance plans sold in the U.S. are Critical Illness insurance, Accidental Death Policies and Hospital Indemnity Insurance. Often these plans may be offered as a benefit from ones employer or purchased from an insurance provider.</p>
<h2>Critical Illness Insurance</h2>
<p>CSometimes known as disease-specific insurance, Critical Illness Insurance is a financial safety net from the monetary consequences of serious illnesses. These policies often provide a lump sum payment to lessen the burden of expenses incurred due to an illness. Coverage is policy dependent, but some common areas that the payments may be used for are: child care and household assistance, experimental treatment (most often related to cancer therapy), accommodation (where treatment requires travel), specialists and deductibles.</p>
<h2>Accidental Death Insurance</h2>
