Sequential turn signals have been making waves in the automotive world lately. More drivers are discovering these eye-catching upgrades that sweep from inside to outside when signaling a turn.

There are several compelling reasons to install sequential turn signals on your car—from boosting safety to adding a modern flair to your ride. Let’s explore what makes these dynamic signals worth considering for your vehicle.

Enhanced Visibility Keeps You Safer

Sequential turn signals grab attention like nothing else on the road. The sweeping motion naturally draws the eye, making your intentions crystal clear to other drivers.

Picture merging onto a busy highway during rush hour. Your sequential signals create an unmistakable arrow effect that cuts through visual clutter. Other drivers spot your movement faster, giving everyone more reaction time.

Modern Aesthetic That Turns Heads

There are many differences between standard and sequential turn signals, and one of the biggest is the aesthetic impact.

Traditional turn signals feel outdated compared to their sequential counterparts. The smooth, flowing animation adds an upscale touch that transforms your car’s appearance.

The difference is striking when you see both turn signal styles side by side. Sequential signals look intentional and sophisticated, while standard bulbs seem almost primitive by comparison.

Personalization Made Easy

Sequential signals offer surprising customization options for such a simple modification. You can choose from warm white, amber, or even colored LEDs to match your style.

The sweep speed is adjustable, too. Want a dramatic slow sweep or a quick flash? Most systems let you dial in the perfect timing for your taste.

Some advanced units include dynamic startup sequences that activate when you unlock your car. These welcome animations add another layer of personalization that makes your vehicle feel uniquely yours.

Make the Switch Today

Sequential turn signals deliver a winning combination of safety, style, and value. They’re one of the most cost-effective ways to modernize your car’s appearance while actually improving functionality.

The installation process is straightforward for most vehicles, and the results speak for themselves.

That said, you can also take your car to a professional for an installation; either way, you can enjoy the advantages of this modern tech now. The biggest reason to install sequential turn signals on your car is that it transforms both how you feel about driving and how others perceive your vehicle.

Install sequential signals to see the difference on the road up close today.

Buffing your car at home can save you money and give you a great sense of accomplishment. Taking on this task yourself gives you complete control over the final look of your vehicle’s paintwork. However, a few wrong moves can lead to subpar results or even damage. Here are five buffing mistakes every DIY car owner should avoid if the want to get that professional-looking shine without any setbacks. You can achieve a smooth, glossy finish by learning what not to do.

Neglecting To Clean the Car First Properly

One of the biggest errors is buffing a dirty or improperly washed car. Buffing pushes dirt, dust, and grime across the paint’s surface at high speeds. This process creates fine scratches and swirl marks, undoing all your hard work. Before you even think about picking up a buffer, give your car a thorough wash.

Quick Tip

Use a quality car soap and the two-bucket method to prevent cross-contamination. Follow up with a clay bar treatment to remove any embedded contaminants and achieve a truly clean surface.

Using the Wrong Buffing Pad or Compound

The market offers a wide array of buffing pads and compounds, each for a specific purpose. Using a compound that is too abrasive for your car’s paint or pairing it with the wrong pad can cause more harm than good.

An aggressive combination can burn through the clear coat, while a combination that is too gentle may not correct any imperfections.

Applying Too Much Pressure

It seems logical that applying more pressure during buffing would remove scratches more quickly. However, this approach often results in unwanted outcomes. Using excessive force on the buffer can generate too much heat, which risks damaging the paint’s finish.

It can also cause an uneven, streaky appearance with visible buffer marks or trails. For the best results, let the machine and the appropriate polishing product do the work, and apply steady, even pressure.

Buffing in Direct Sunlight or on a Hot Surface

Buffing a car in direct sunlight or when the surface is hot to the touch causes the polishing compound to dry out too quickly. When the product dries fast, it becomes difficult to work with and can leave behind a chalky residue.

For best results, always work in a shaded area or garage on a cool surface. This gives the compound enough time to break down properly and correct the paint. Knowing whether or not your buffing and polishing pads are reusable also helps you prepare for your next detailing session.

Moving the Buffer Too Quickly or in the Wrong Direction

Proper technique is always important. Moving the buffer too fast across the paint does not give the compound enough time to work, resulting in an inconsistent finish. You should also avoid moving in random patterns.

Proper Technique:

Work in small, manageable sections, about two feet by two feet.

Move the buffer in slow, overlapping passes, first horizontally and then vertically.

This methodical approach helps you achieve uniform coverage and a flawless shine.

By steering clear of these common buffing mistakes every DIY car owner should avoid, you set yourself up for a successful detailing job. Taking your time and using the right materials will reward you with a car that looks professionally detailed.

Are you considering upgrading your semi-truck? While it may seem like a straightforward process, it can quickly turn into a nightmare if you don’t approach the task with the right mindset and preparation. Upgrading your semi-truck is not just a matter of swapping out parts—it requires careful planning and thorough consideration to avoid making costly mistakes. You can avoid these semi-truck upgrading mistakes and make the right choices that enhance your truck’s performance and longevity when you know what you’re doing.

Not Doing Your Research

Upgrading your semi-truck is a significant investment, so you’ll want to ensure you are getting the best value for your hard-earned money. This process entails conducting thorough research on different options available in the market. Look into various brands, models, and features that cater to your specific needs. Additionally, compare prices from multiple manufacturers or suppliers to find the best deals. Instead of going with the first option you see, with the right amount of research, you can make the right decision that works for you and your semi.

Cutting Corners

While it may be tempting to save some cash by cutting corners during your semi-truck upgrade, this strategy can backfire and end up costing you more in the long run. For example, instead of choosing the cheapest turbocharger on the market, find the turbocharger that’s right for you and your truck. Always prioritize quality over cost when upgrading your semi-truck.

Neglecting Routine Maintenance

One common mistake many truck owners make is focusing solely on the upgrades while neglecting essential routine maintenance tasks. While it might seem that minor issues can wait, ignoring regular maintenance can lead to more significant problems down the line, ultimately damaging your semi-truck. Regular oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations are critical to your vehicle’s health. Keeping up with routine maintenance allows you to keep your upgrades in proper working order and enhance your truck’s longevity and performance.

Skipping a Test Drive

One of the most critical steps in the upgrading process is giving your semi-truck a thorough test drive before hitting the road. This crucial step allows you to identify any issues or adjust before getting out on the road. Don’t skip this step and assume that everything will work perfectly. Taking the time to test drive your truck can save you from potential problems in the future, as you will know how the truck will handle and promptly address anything out of the ordinary. Skipping a test drive means getting on the road without the confidence that your semi-truck will drive like it’s supposed to.

Upgrading your semi-truck is an exciting journey that can lead to improved performance and efficiency, but it requires careful planning and consideration to avoid these semi-truck upgrading mistakes. Your semi-truck upgrades will be successful when you steer clear of these pitfalls and follow these tips! With the right approach and mindset, you can have a well-functioning, efficient semi-truck that meets all your requirements.

Trucks are popular, but they’re a lot of work and take time to learn how to operate. Unfortunately, these huge, fun trucks are automobiles that only a select few can drive properly. If you’re interested in learning how to drive a pickup, here are The Best Tips for First-Time Pickup Truck Drivers

If you consider yourself a collector or are new to classic-car ownership, you should consider taking the vehicle to a local auto show, car swap, or meet-up. Below, we’ll explain why you should bring your classic car to a classic car show to connect with others, increase your vehicle’s value, and maybe even win an award!

Connect With Other Collectors

Perhaps the best reason to attend a classic car show, swap, or convention with your vintage vehicle is to connect with other collectors. Entering your first classic car show allows you to share your story and engage with other enthusiasts in a community environment where everyone is looking to connect and share with like-minded car lovers.

Owning a classic car puts you in a community with others who appreciate the beauty and history of vintage cars. When it comes to buying and selling cars, you’ll be dealing with other collectors like yourself, so it’s worth getting to know your fellow collectors better and building relationships.

Increase Your Car’s Sale Potential

If you’re interested in selling your car soon, bringing it to a car show is a great way to generate interest. Many collectors go to auto shows for the sole purpose of adding to their collection or identifying cars they could target later.

While simply bringing your vehicle to a classic car show won’t instantly increase its value, it’ll get in front of collectors and potential buyers in real life. Plus, if you win any recognition or an award, that’ll instantly make it a more attractive collector’s item and thus more valuable.

Learn About Other Cars and Restorations

Another reason you should bring your classic car to a classic car show is to learn more about other vintage vehicles and projects. If you consider yourself a classic car restorer or have interest in such a project, a classic car show is a great place to get more information and study the craft.

There will undoubtedly be classic car owners who have restored their vehicles and can offer valuable advice and information about the project. For classic car owners and collectors, their local community is the best source for insightful info and tips.

Win Awards and Recognition

Finally, you could go home with some hardware for your trouble! Each show is different, but many often have a panel of judges or a people’s ballot where judges and attendees can vote on the best in show or best vehicles of certain classes.

For some shows, the winners simply get a plaque and a pat on the back, while others offer serious prize money. Who knows? You could leave your show with a trophy and a cash prize just for displaying your vintage vehicle!

If all those reasons aren’t enough, classic car shows are also just a lot of fun! You get to see some beautiful vintage vehicles, meet new people, and talk about cars all day. What else could you want?

Driving is an activity that requires constant attentiveness and responsibility. Every time you get behind the wheel, you have a responsibility to yourself, your passengers, and other road users. Although not every car accident is completely preventable, drivers should exercise defensive driving techniques and other best practices for staying safe on the road. Read on for the top five accident prevention tips.

Stay Focused on the Road

Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of preventable car accidents. Distractions can come from scrolling social media or texting, eating or drinking while driving, or averting your eyes from the road in front of you. Even a momentary lapse can lead to a serious accident. Always keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road to ensure your safety. Pull over safely if you need to use your phone.

Keep a Safe Distance

Maintaining a safe distance between your car and the vehicle in front of you is an essential defensive driving technique. This practice gives you enough time to react if the vehicle ahead suddenly stops. A good rule of thumb is to follow the “three-second rule”—stay at least three seconds behind the car in front of you. Increase this distance to provide extra time for braking in adverse conditions, such as rain or driving late at night.

Avoid Driving Aggressively or Unpredictably

Getting frustrated or angry at other drivers can impact your ability to drive safely. Aggressive driving can lead to unpredictable behaviors that other drivers cannot account for, resulting in an accident. Take a deep breath and remind yourself that your primary goal is to arrive at your destination safely if you find yourself getting angry.

Being aware of other drivers who may be experiencing road rage or acting unpredictably is also important. Keep your distance if you identify an impaired driver or someone driving aggressively and report them to the authorities if their behavior escalates.

Drive Carefully in Bad Weather

Bad weather conditions such as rain, snow, and fog can make it more difficult to see ahead and make driving more hazardous. Adjust your driving habits to match the weather conditions. Slow down, use your headlights, and keep your windshield wipers in good condition. It might be best to pull over in a safe location and wait until the weather improves if things become too severe.

Follow Rules of the Road

Ultimately, drivers should follow all traffic laws and these top five accident prevention tips to stay safe on the road. Be sure to follow posted speed limits and other posted street signs, especially if you are unfamiliar with a particular area. Using turn signals is an effective way to communicate your driving to others on the road so there are no collisions or near misses. Lastly, never drive while impaired or sleep-deprived so you remain as attentive as possible.

As more people use electric cars for their transportation needs, it’s important to understand the intricate components that make up these innovative machines. Electric vehicles (EVs) have taken the world by storm, and this new legion of drivers should know the different parts of electric vehicles so they can drive confidently, stay safe on the road, and keep their cars in good condition.

EV Battery

At the heart of your electric vehicle lies the battery. Unlike combustion engine vehicles, EVs rely on rechargeable batteries for power. Lithium-ion batteries are known for their high energy density and long lifespan. You can charge these batteries at home or a public EV charging station.

Advancements in EV battery technology have led to fast charging options, reducing the time it takes to recharge your electric vehicle when you’re out and about.

Special Tires

Many drivers don’t think twice about their tires. However, you should read up on interesting things to know about EV tires. What sets electric vehicle tires apart from other models? EV tires have a unique tread pattern and offer even weight distribution for optimal handling on the road.

These tires meet the unique weight and torque requirements of your EV, but an unfortunate downside is they wear out faster than other types of tires.

Regenerative Braking System

Electric vehicles employ an ingenious regenerative braking system that maximizes the driving range and enhances energy efficiency. This innovative system utilizes advanced technology to harness the energy generated during braking and convert it into electricity in the battery. By repurposing this energy, EVs create an eco-friendly and economical driving experience, reducing the reliance on fossil fuels.

(Lack of) Transmission

It might surprise you that EVs do not rely on a transmission or gearbox. Electric motors are remarkable because they can operate at various speeds, eliminating the need for gear shifts. As a result, electric vehicle owners enjoy smoother driving.

The absence of gear shifts in electric vehicles brings additional benefits. EVs have simpler drivetrains than combustion engine vehicles, reducing their maintenance requirements. Furthermore, the power delivery of the electric motor contributes to a more responsive driving experience, allowing for smooth acceleration and braking.

Your vehicle’s suspension isn’t just about smooth rides and comfort. It plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, stability, and handling. As with any car component, understanding the suspension’s functionality and signs of wear can save you money and ensure safety on the road. Here’s what you need to know about your car suspension.

The Role of Suspension Systems

A vehicle’s suspension system maximizes the friction between the road and the tires, ensuring steering stability and passenger comfort. It’s the unsung hero that absorbs shocks, offering a smoother ride even on bumpy terrains. It also helps maintain tire alignment, minimizes wear, and aids in efficient braking.

Risks of Lowering Your Suspension

Many car enthusiasts love the aesthetic of a lowered car. However, excessively lowered suspensions can lead to problems. For one thing, ground clearance decreases, increasing the likelihood of undercarriage damage. Additionally, it can alter the car’s geometry, affecting wheel alignment and tire wear. It’s essential to strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Benefits of Optimal Suspension Height

An optimally adjusted car suspension improves fuel efficiency, tire longevity, and overall vehicle safety. A balanced suspension system can adapt to various terrains, from rough, uneven landscapes to smooth highways, ensuring a consistent and comfortable driving experience while preserving the vehicle’s structural integrity.

Impact of Weight and Load

Whether your vehicle carries passengers or cargo, its overall weight can affect its suspension. Regularly overloading the vehicle can cause the suspension to wear out faster, affecting the car’s balance and stability. Knowing your vehicle’s load capacity and avoiding surpassing it is vital to ensure the suspension’s longevity and optimal performance.

Signs Your Suspension Needs Repair

Being alert to your car’s behavior can save you costly repairs. Signs that your suspension may need attention include uneven tire treads, a drifting or pulling sensation during turns, feeling every bump, a corner of the car sitting low, or hearing knocks and rattles. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult a mechanic promptly.

Now that you understand what to know about your car suspension and its height, you’re better equipped to ensure your vehicle’s safety and performance. While aesthetics are the top priority for many people, the functional integrity of your car should always take precedence.

Are you in the market for a new SUV but can’t decide between brands? In truth, there are so many vehicles available today, each providing its own advantages and downsides. Luckily, two automobiles stand out among the rest—the Jeep Wrangler and Subaru Forester. Which is better? Read on to learn more.

The Jeep Wrangler

The Wrangler is one of the most significant vehicles in American pop culture history. From its WWII fighting origin to making many movie and TV appearances, this Jeep is the ideal off-roader.

The removable doors and roof allow for an experience unlike any other, and the durable build means you can enjoy your Wrangler for years to come. Plus, Jeep releases an improved model each year that’s capable of putting out more power and better performance rates. Ultimately, it’s a fun vehicle that has features unmatched by its competition.

The Subaru Forester

Subaru wasn’t always a popular car brand, especially in the United States. However, the excellence of the Forester has given this manufacturer a positive, reliable reputation. The Forester is perhaps the most comfortable and versatile adventure vehicle on the market. It’s highly affordable and designed for both families and thrill-seekers.

Subarus are known for gas efficiency, and the Forester clocks in at an impressive 25-26/28-35 miles per gallon. Additionally, the car itself possesses extremely convenient and high-tech amenities designed to keep you safe and boost the overall driving experience.

Which is Better?

So, which is the best choice for you? Ultimately, the answer lies in your personal needs. Do you require a daily driver primarily for commuting but occasional off-roading? Then the Forester might be the better option. Its cost ranges from $25,395 to $35,495—compared to $33,595-$77,095 for the Wrangler—and you’re getting significantly more amenities and comfort factors.

However, the Jeep Wrangler is still a suitable vehicle for traditional road driving. The appeal of this vehicle over the Forester means sacrificing some comfort and practicality for the ultimate off-roading automobile, but if you want a ride that provides thrills, the Wrangler is a must.

A better understanding of the debate between the Jeep Wrangler vs. Subaru Forester and which is better can help you prepare for future purchases. Many American prefer larger SUVs, and both of these vehicles offer something unique for prospective buyers. Regardless of which one you select, each brand is sure to provide you with a car that is affordable and reliable.

Why is a car undercoat so important to all drivers? Many people live in places where inclement weather can have a negative impact on their motor vehicle. Wear and tear from the elements is a normal part of a car’s life cycle, and car manufacturers try to make cars so they last, largely because they are such expensive and necessary investments for most people. However, some places like Hawaii and South Dakota have their own unique concerns with the elements that can warrant added protection for a car’s exterior. Although insurance rates between Hawaii and South Dakota are largely comparable, adding an extra measure of protection to the body of a car can help with insurance rates and to the overall longevity of the car. Undercoating your car can help with this and much more.

For drivers living in Hawaii, salt is a concern because of Hawaii’s proximity to the ocean. For drivers living in South Dakota, the winters are very harsh and salt is often used on the roads after ice and snow storms to melt the frozen precipitation and provide clear streets. The problem with salt is that objects that come into contact with salt water are much more prone to becoming rusted. This is because salt conducts electrons much more easily in salt water than in water alone, and when it comes into conduct with the metal of a driver’s car, it creates a reaction that begins the oxidizing process. Paint is meant to protect a car’s body from the effects of rust, but dents and damage can create openings in the paint for rust to occur. For this reason, many people choose to undercoat their cars.

Undercoating is a protective layer that is applied to the under layer of a car where the parts are not coated with a protective layer of paint and thus more susceptible to rust damage. Undercoating is not meant to be an addition to the vehicle’s paint. A good waxing and inspection can help a car owner ensure that their vehicle is protected from rust damage. Since the under layer of a car is more often exposed to the elements of the road, many drivers choose to add that layer of protection, which is like a paint job for underneath the vehicle. Although vehicle already have a rust protection coating on these parts, and undercoating gives an extra measure of protection to these parts from damage and rust. The other added benefit of undercoating is that it provides a car with a sound dampener that makes operating the vehicle much quieter on the road.

For many people, the drawbacks to undercoating far outweigh their benefits. The biggest drawback is the cost. Car dealership often charge quite a lot of money to undercoat a car, and for someone financing a new car purchase, this can add too much to the final purchase price. The other drawback to undercoating is the addition to the vehicles weight. Although it may not seem significant, the added weight of an undercoating can have an impact of fuel efficiency of the car.

Although undercoating is costly, there are alternatives to having undercoating professionally done. Kits are sold that allow operators to undercoat their vehicles at a fraction of the professional cost. A driver should look at their overall road conditions and how they feel about the investment in their car before deciding to undercoat.

Find Reliable Used Cars in NJ

Thousands of people purchase used cars in NJ every year. Dealerships like Toyota put more emphasis on longevity with each and every new model they make. The quality and affordability of used vehicles make them the perfect option for families on a budget. Of course, the purchase of a used vehicle is not something that should be taken lightly. There are a number of factors to consider before any future car owner should sign off on a used vehicle.

Vehicle History: Ask Questions

Reputable dealers who sell used cars will have all of the pertinent information for each and every vehicle on their lot. It’s important to come to a dealership prepared with questions to help your search. One of the first questions that should be asked about a car is whether or not the vehicle has been involved in an accident. Car dealers will have records of accident reports and if they say that a car has been repaired after an accident, a different car should be considered. Accidents can damage frames and other important parts that can ruin vehicles even if they seem intact.

The mileage of a used vehicle is another important factor. If you can find out if most miles were put on the vehicle on the highway, that’s a nice plus. All used cars in NJ will have different mileages and how they racked up their miles, and how many miles are on the vehicle should go a long way in determining the proper price. Most sedans and smaller cars become quite worn once they reach the 100,000 mile point and many repairs may be need to ensure a smooth ride in the future. SUVs and trucks on the other hand, often run well even after they have been driven many miles and these vehicles are considered a good value until they reach 200,000 miles.

All car dealers should be asked where used cars in NJ were owned. Used car dealerships will often receive cars from different locations and this means that previous car owners may have lived in different states during their period of ownership. Cars that were driven in warm states are a much better value, and these cars should move up your list of potential purchases. Used cars from warmer states like Florida won’t have the wear and tear that comes with driving a vehicle through heavily salted streets during the winter. Salt causes rust to form on vehicles, and this can cause a lot of damage to car bodies and undercarriages.

To drive a car legally, all drivers will need to have some form of car insurance. While car insurance is an inevitable expense and can be somewhat expensive, there are five ways that someone could reduce their car insurance expense:

1. Decrease Coverage

One of the best ways to reduce your car insurance expense would be to decrease your coverage. To drive a car legally, most states only require you to have liability insurance. However, to be protected against theft, vandalism, or at-fault accidents, you will need comprehensive insurance as well. If you decide to forego comprehensive coverage, your total insurance bill could be cut in half.

2. Defensive Driving Class

Another way to receive an insurance cost reduction would be to take a defensive driving class. These classes, which include a Safe2Drive class, is designed to teach individuals how to drive more safely and avoid accidents. When taking one of these classes, a participant can receive a reduction in driving penalty points or even have a violation removed from their record. This will then directly result in a reduction in car insurance rates.

3. Increase Deductible

By increasing your deductible, you will see a direct reduction in your insurance premiums. The deductible is the amount of money that you will pay out of pocket during any insurance claim. If you raise your deductible, it will therefore reduce the insurance company’s liability if a claim is filed. Because of this, the insurance company will reduce your premium payments. Even a $500 increase in your deductible could save you hundreds of dollars per year.

4. Combine Policies

If you have multiple drivers in your family or other insurance policies, you could save a lot of money by combining all of your policies into one. Those that combine their home and auto insurance policies together could end up saving a few hundred dollars each year.

5. Shop Around

One of the most effective ways to receive a reduction in insurance premiums would be to shop around. All insurance companies have differing underwriting and pricing methods, which means that one insurance company could give a much differing rate than the next. By shopping around, you will find the lowest rate possible and could even use the rates to negotiate.

Takeaway

In conclusion, driving a car legally will require you to have some form of car insurance coverage. While car insurance can be pretty expensive, there are five things that you could do to see a reduction in premiums.

It’s well documented that men are involved in more accidents than women. Because they are a higher risk, insurance companies charge more for male drivers. There could be some level of bias causing the higher accident rates for men. They may drive more often in general. In relationships, men may take the wheel more often when the couple ventures out.

Despite the possible statistical bias, studies conclude that women are be safer drivers than men because of their personality traits. Male drivers are more likely to get into serious auto accidents because they are generally more aggressive than women. When women get into accidents, it’s usually a minor fender bender or a parking lot accident; men are much more likely to be involved in deadly single-car or multi-car collisions.

Why Men Have More Accidents

A psychological study suggests that men are more impulsive than women. They are also less likely to be dissuaded by punishment. In other words, men are more likely to behave impulsively without thinking about possible consequences, leading to greater risk taking.

In addition to greater impulsivity, men are more likely to be competitive. Another psychological study completed in the United Kingdom suggests that men account for 72 percent of all arrests and over 80 percent of violent crimes worldwide. Men are also more likely to take drugs, an obvious danger behind the wheel. They’re also less likely to wear seatbelts.

Examples of the impulsive and aggressive behaviors often observed in male drivers include cutting people off, running red lights, tailgating and speeding. The behavior patterns and driving styles lead men to be three times as likely as women to be involved in collisions.

Ironically, these aggressive driving behaviors may be one reason men are more likely to drive the family car than their spouses. Women may be nervous in traffic and prefer a man’s more confident driving style, or the man may become too impatient with his more cautious mate and demand to drive.

What Can Be Done About It?

Of course, not all men are the same, and some exhibit a limited range of these risky behaviors. Not every man is a bad or reckless driver and many can go their entire lives without causing a car accident. As a whole, however, men are more likely to wreck. Although this could change over time, the gap between male and female drivers remains wide today and shows no clear signs of narrowing.

Fortunately, car insurance rates are still calculated based primarily upon an individual driver’s record, so a man with a safe driving history is still able to get affordable premiums. Men may do well to take a defensive driving course and focus on safe driving habits as a way to obtain the best insurance rates. The can also choose safe vehicles such as minivans rather than a flashy sports car. This will help keep car insurance affordable without having to hand the keys over to the wife or girlfriend.

There are few businesses that can function fully without the use of a vehicle; from large vans to company cars you need to know how to get the best from your business transport. There are many things to consider both before and after you purchase a car, van or truck and this practical how to guide has been put together to help you understand the points that really matter.

Consider a Second Hand Vehicle

No matter whether you are looking for an executive vehicle for the commute to work and ferrying clients around or a heavy duty vehicle to transport goods, it’s always worth considering a second hand alternative. The main benefit of a used vehicle is the considerable difference in price, but providing you choose the right dealer you can also expect a full service history and warranty too.

Research the Best Makes and Models

Listening to what other people have to say about a particular make and model is all well and good therefore should be valued, but it is also necessary to undertake your own research to find out what similar industries are driving. Look at all aspects such as fuel consumption, price depreciation and common issues with the vehicle you are considering to get a good understanding of what you can expect performance wise.

Find a Reliable Garage

No matter what car, van or truck you buy, over time wear and tear will occur and a service will need to be booked. Put some thought into the garage you choose and if it’s a larger truck you are purchasing be sure to look at the experience they have in servicing such a vehicle. Those purchasing a fleet of trucks could also look into a garage that provides on-site servicing and repairs to reduce downtime.

Consider its Purpose

If you are a newer company looking to purchase a vehicle or fleet of trucks, it’s important to remember what the vehicle is needed for now and what it might be needed for in the future. Consult your business plan and see if that smaller truck might not be as useful a few months down the line as supply and demand grows.

Whatever type of vehicle you are buying for your business, make sure you take care to explore all of your options in terms of buying second hand instead of new and do you research on fuel efficiency before committing to the sale!

Car accidents happen on a daily basis. However, we can significantly decrease our chances of being involved in one by being attentive, avoiding distractions and observing traffic laws. Here are a few tips that can help you stay safe on the road.

Avoid Any Distractions

Hundreds of accidents occur yearly due to distractions. One of the most common distractions which affect young drivers in particular are related to cell phone usage including texting, talking and even web surfing. The act of texting or even a reading a message diverts the driver’s attention eyes from the road which can lead to disastrous result; all it takes is one second of inattentiveness in order to lose control of the vehicle. Other distractions may include loud and noisy children or even a conversation with a passenger. It’s even possible to be distracted by thoughts, worries and daydreams. The important thing to remember is that your attention needs to be focused on the actual task of driving every time you step behind the wheel. If you are having difficulty concentrating in general you can try meditation which can help you learn to focus and tune out all distractions.

Be Careful At Intersections

Intersections can be extremely dangerous; unprotected left-hand turns in particular. Never make a left at an unprotected turn unless you are certain that the coast is clear. It’s also a good idea to look left and right before you hit the gas pedal when the light turns green. A green light by itself doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s safe to go if the person on the other side happens to run a red light.

Don’t Speed

Most of us have all sped at one time or another when in a hurry. However, speeding increases the chances that the driver may lose control the vehicle. In case of an accident, the severity of the impact is directly correlated with the speed of travel. Try to observe the speed limit at all times and avoid driving excessively fast.

Research Safety Features

Research features in-depth before making a final purchase since different brands have different options when it comes to safety features. Five Star ford Dallas dealer offers a large selection of Ford cars with the advanced SYNC system which offers Bluetooth compatibility and allows drivers to keep their hands on the wheel while driving. Mercedes Benz is known for its crumple zone while Volvo is acclaimed for innovative pedestrian safety technology utilizing a system of radars and sensors.

Be A Responsible Driver

Being a responsible driving means changing lanes way before your exit instead of waiting until the last minute and then “pushing” your way through traffic. It also means keeping a safe distance between your vehicle and the one in front which will help to give you extra stopping distance in case of a car accident.

Driving is a privilege and deserves our undivided attention every time we step behind the wheel.

Written by Jacqueline Starz – Nissan Dealer Rochester carries a large selection of Nissan cars which are equipped with a vast array of safety features such as airbags, ESC and traction control.

Being pulled over can be scary and frustrating at the same time. You may not be sure why you’re being pulled over, and if you don’t know what to do or how to act when you’re pulled over, you could end up making the situation worse. Before you get yourself arrested for making a mistake, use the following information to help you learn what to do if you’re being pulled over.

1. Make sure it’s the police.

We live in a world of scam artists, and some people are using unmarked squad cars to pull people over in order to cause harm. If you are unsure if it’s a real cop car due to being unmarked, you can call 911 to find out. If the dispatcher confirms that a police car is pulling you over, you can let the dispatcher know that you will pull over shortly and they can provide the police officer with this information so the officer doesn’t think you’re resisting. If it isn’t a real police officer, the dispatcher will inform you of what to do in order to keep you safe.

2. Pull over.

The minute you see the police officer behind you with their lights flaring (and you know it’s a real cop), you need to pull over to the right immediately. Use your turn signal if you need to switch lanes. If you are on a busy street, you should pull into the nearest parking lot instead of stopping traffic. If you are on a highway or busy road, make sure you pull over as far to the right as possible so that the officer has plenty of room between your car and traffic to stand and talk with you.

3. Prepare yourself.

The more courteous you can be may help the severity of your offense. Roll your window down and turn your radio off right away so that the officer doesn’t have to ask you to do so. Make sure to keep your hands on the steering wheel so the officer can see them. If it’s dark, you should also turn on your interior light. When the officer approaches and asks for all of your information, give it to them and be polite. If you’re not sure what you did wrong, ask.

You should always remain in the car. If the police officer wants you to get out for any reason, they will let you know. If you start getting out of the car, the officer may assume that you are trying to run or cause harm, and they may use force to get you to stop.

4. Don’t make the situation worse.

Police officers can’t search your car without reason, so don’t give them a reason. Never keep anything illegal in your vehicle, and don’t desperately try to hide something as the officer is approaching. If the officer sees anything illegal within plain view, or if they think you were trying to hide something, it will give them the right to search your vehicle.

5. Don’t admit wrongdoing.

You may know that you were speeding or you failed to stop at a stop sign, but don’t admit it. If an offer asks you if you know why you were pulled over, say no. Let them tell you. If you say that you knew how fast you were going or any other admittance of guilt, the officer can use this information against you in court.

By knowing how to properly act when pulled over, you may be able to get off with a warning instead of an actual ticket. Always listen to the officer and be polite—it could save you a huge fine.

The term “pony car” or “muscle car” defined the look and feel of these cars being built with long sloping fronts, compact rears and seating set further back than most sports cars.

For nearly 50 years the Mustang has been a signature Ford model and continues to be one of their top sellers. In fact, when they first rolled off the assembly line in 1965 sales were expected to be around 100,000 units for the first year. They sold that many in the first three months. Ford went on to sell 328,000 in the first year, making it one of the most successful launches of a new model ever.

Its unique design has only seen a few changes over the years. In 1972 Ford came up with a drastic redesign of the Mustang that nearly killed their sales. They quickly reworked the car to look more like one everybody knew and loved with the main exception being the addition of a hatchback in the 1980’s. Nearly fifty years and five generations later it has largely been untouched. Now Ford is facing a challenge with the Mustang and is making a bold move to meet it.

Having been the first generation to grow up with them, Baby Boomers have naturally been the largest consumers of muscle cars. In fact, the average age of a Mustang buyer is 51 years old and while the market is still there, Ford realizes the Baby Boomer market is drying up fast. To make matters worse the younger generations aren’t nearly as interested in buying cars as their predecessors were. In order to encourage the younger crowd to buy Mustangs Ford has decided to redesign the car with a sleeker more “European” look to it. The hope is that this will appeal to those who are trending away from the traditional muscle car look.

This, of course, carries a large risk for Ford as well. Will the redesign alienate their current, older customer base? Ford is gambling that the Baby Boomer market has reached its peak and will soon begin to decline and they hope to lure in new buyers before their competitors do. It will be a tough sell though since younger generations do not see cars as status symbols that they used to be.

Ford is taking a large, but calculated risk. Stray too far from the car everybody knows and love and it can cost millions. Keep it to close to the way it is now and they risk losing the younger market. It will be awhile until we find out what happens though, the new Mustang won’t be released until 2014, until then it’s anybody’s guess.

Jeff Jordan lives, works and writes (sometimes) in Southern California. Sadly, he drives a beat up Altima instead of a nice, shiny, new Mustang, but that can’t stop him from dreaming right? One way to save on a Mustang is to sell or trade in a car to reduce the cost. You can also find one at a certified used dealer.

The feeling of euphoria can be felt by everyone involved. Now in the driving class, they have acquired a new status and joined the club of drivers. Despite this excitement, the first year, especially the first few months, can be a real nightmare for many new drivers and a few suggestions can make it easier to acclimatize with their new surroundings.

Quickly reading and interpreting road signs

After living a pedestrian commuter life where road signs did not mean anything other than bizarre shaped signs on the road, these signs get a whole new meaning. New drivers discover that without being fully aware of the road signs they will be honked at until they feel like loosing their composure. This is because of the inconvenience that their lack of awareness will cause their counterparts on the road and also other pedestrians.

Traffic signs

Most road users are always in a hurry and impatient to get there quickly. This means that, when traffic lights turn green, they expect those before them to move ahead in quick succession. New drivers must learn this skills quickly unless they want to be honked out onto the kerb due to panic or anxiety. Furthermore, they must also learn when, where and how to approach traffic lights and move on quickly and competently without being vexed by the honking horns behind them.

Road rage

This can make any new driver feel like they are loosing their sanity. This is because all drivers have different temperaments and how they handle other road users depends on the day they have been having. In most cases, many are angry, temperamental and very aggressive when they want their way. Some have even been known to use physical force or violent means to do it. Being aware of this and trying to defuse it before it escalates is a skill many drivers require because many dangerous accidents are caused by uncontrolled rage. The main thing, is to ensure that irrespective of anything, calm on the road is mandatory.

Parking

This is a skill that can be acquired only with repeated practice. However with the advent of car turntables and truck turntables, parking has become much more enjoyable and easier for many drivers. In places where parking is tricky, many new drivers can benefit from parking atop a turntable so that their parking experience can be as simple as possible. These convenient devices make the parking nightmare much more enjoyable for new drivers.

Night driving

Unless a new driver must do this, night driving should not be engaged in until they have acquired enough confidence in their car to drive it very easily. This is because, driving at night can be much more dangerous given new challenges like the lower lighting and visibility, reckless drivers because law enforcement is not very vigilant and many other adverse conditions that are brought on by the night.

Leslie Smith is a driving instructor working in the motor vehicle industry. He recommends car turntables to make parking spacious and comfortable for both new and old drivers alike.

Hey there Beamer fans check out the 2012 BMW M1! This thing looks pretty dang hot and fast.. let alone furious! This particular Beam is made by the California-based tuning company, Vorsteiner, and is fast becoming one of the major tuning companies. An article on TopSpeed.com has a whole gallery of this beautiful, sexy, amazing auto machine! Here at the Global Good Network we love BMW’s…both Rick Jeffries and I someday want an M series whether that be the M1, M3, M5 or M6 and it would be especially awesome to have it tuned by a major player although I am very interested in the BMW tuning firm Hamann ( which we will be covering in our next article ). Perhaps BMW, Hamann, or somebody else out there in the Global Good World would like to sponsor us with one…? Just throwing it out there. Anyways this beautiful coupe we have featured is officially the “1M Coupe GTS-V” which includes such extras as ”a front spoiler with an integrated brake duct system, a front spoiler with an integrated brake duct system, a redesigned rear diffuser with extended aero fins and GTS-V designed splitters, a lightweight boot lid with its own small wing, and a new set of either 19″ or 20″ Forged Concave Wheels”. Oh boy what a turn on.. this thing sounds ferocious; enough to make the blood pump for any true car fan… even all of you benz addicts out there must surely give credit to the BMW M Series for being out standing and out of this world!

You may be wondering what the differences are between an automatic transmission and a stick shift. Simply put, with a manual transmission you have to shift the gears yourself by depressing the clutch pedal, whereas an automatic shifts the transmission for you. More in-depth knowledge is available on the Internet, the DMV, as well as other credible sources. However, if you are not concerned with the details and simply want to learn how to drive a stick shift, here’s a general synopsis.

It’s always best to get into the ritual of putting on your seat belt, adjusting your steering wheel, seat and mirrors. Look at your stick shift and memorize the gear pattern shown on the shift knob. Experiment with the clutch by pushing it down as far as you can. Keep it in “neutral” gear and move the stick shift to get a feel for it. Depress the clutch all the way to the floor and practice putting it into first gear, letting the clutch slowly come back up before slipping it into second gear, again pushing the clutch in, then continuing through to the last gear. Note where your “reverse” is located.

1. Let’s Get Moving! Push the clutch in and place your right foot on the gas pedal. Tug the shifter around until it snaps into neutral position. If it is the center, it should have a little play and give easily. Make sure the clutch is still completely depressed. Put your foot on the gas, turn the key and listen to the engine purr.

2. Put it in first gear and while releasing the clutch, slowly push down on the gas. Your car should be moving now. Quick tip: let the clutch out super slow and rev your engine slightly above 1000 RPM will give you a hint how your vehicle will react. Too high will launch it like a space rocket, so be careful not to let the clutch out to quickly. At first, it may be jerky. The engine may even die on if you release the clutch too fast or hit the gas too hard. Finding its “sweet spot” will become second nature to you before long.

3. Once moving, gradually give it more gas and release the clutch. Most people shift into second gear at around 3000 RPM. Others are more interested in saving gas and prefer to shift gears around 2000. Before shifting, however, always completely depress the clutch. Keep shifting, rinsing and repeating, simultaneously doing the clutch/gas thing until you’ve reached your desired speed. It’s like a dance!
