Top Tips For Event Planning

If you are planning an event and this is something which you have not done before, the whole experience may seem a little scary and you probably don’t even know where to start. Here are some great tips and advice which should help you when putting together your own business event. Although it can be a great idea to get an events agency for larger events, there are plenty of things you can do yourself even with a limited budget.

1: Work out your budget

How much do you have to spend and availiable to you. How is this budget split up. Make sure you know how much you can spend and where you can spend it. Even if this budget is flexible it is a good idea to always have a budget in mind whenever you are booking things or paying for them.

2: Work out a theme or a topic

Your entire event should have something that ties it together. This should be a theme or topic. Make sure your speakers know what this is. It is a good idea to make sure everything carries the same message so that your guests feel like the event meant something and that they learnt something.

3: Work out what will make it a success

What do you want people to do after your event. Do you want them to call up a number, buy a product, visit a website etc. Make sure you can track sucess. Track hits before, during and after the event to measure how successful the event has been.

4: Pick an appropriate venue

Make sure you pick an appropriate venue both in terms of size and style. Make sure your venue fits with your message and topic. Make sure it is large enough to hold all the staff and visitors and that if you have multiple people talking that they can all do their talks without drowning each other out.

5: Consider travel times

Can people travel from local hotels to your event in time. How good is the public transport and what time does it start and stop. Will people need to fly in, will you need to run a shuttle service etc. These are all worth looking into before you book an event venue.

These are all really simple things to considering when planning your event but should have a great impact on your overall event and how it goes.
