Best Travel Exercise Equipment

Traveling need not be an excuse to miss a workout. For one, most hotels these days are equipped with decent gyms that have good exercise equipment. And if there is no gym in the hotel you are staying, you can always run or jog outside or perform body-weight exercise routines in the comforts of your room. And with the availability of different portable exercise equipment that can fit in your luggage, there really is no reason not to get some good exercise while you are miles away from home. What follows is a rundown of some of the best travel exercise equipment that you can bring with you on your next trip.

Skipping Rope

A skipping rope is probably the lightest and, not to mention, the cheapest piece of exercise equipment that you can bring with you. You can easily buy one in a department store for as low as $5 although better ones can go for $20 and above. Working out using a skipping rope seem like a very simple activity but it can be very tough. This is why it is an essential part of most boxers’ conditioning program. If you are beginner, you will be hard pressed to complete a round for more than 10 minutes. Skipping rope is also a good fat burning workout and is way better than other aerobic workouts.

Yoga Mat

A yoga mat is another piece of equipment that will fit right in your luggage, even if you are just bringing a backpack with you. You can even roll your yoga mat and just strap it on the side of your bag. Many yoga mats also come with their own bags so you can transport them easily. The best thing about doing yoga when you are traveling is that you can do it almost anywhere. You can do it inside your room or you can do it outdoors if you want to breathe in some fresh air.

Elastic Exercise Bands

It may not be practically to bring some free weights with you but you can still get a good resistance workout on the road with the help of elastic exercise bands. These bands are deceptively light but they can give you a good resistance workout just like your dumbbells at home. The best thing about using exercise bands is that they are so flexible. You are limited only by your imagination when it comes to the exercise routines that you can do with them. Virtually, all types of exercise that you can do with free weights, you can also do with exercise bands.

Mini Trampoline

This may not be as portable as the other equipment in this list but this is probably the most beneficial. Rebounding is a good workout that does not only help in burning fat but will strengthen your bones and boost your immune system as well. Rebounding is also a fun exercise that you can do while listening to music or watching TV. Needak rebounder offers some very light, portable and foldable rebounders that you can bring with you on your trips.
