Start your own Free Little Library

little library

A little library is a fun concept that can provide free books to children and adults alike while Libraries are closed for Covid-19. This is a perfect weekend project. You can build it in your free time and stock it with books from your home as well as donations from neighborhood family and friends.

This is a wonderful way to get rid of books that you aren’t planning on reading again as well as pick up a book or two that you may have never considered.  This also gives your child a chance to find a new book to love.

Don’t forget the rules of the little library. When you take a book, you must leave a book, so that there are always plenty of books for others to read.

This project is not only a fun way to meet new people if you catch them trading books, but also a lovely excuse to spend time creating something as a family that can be used for years to come.

Little Library

Many kids, in addition to being outside running and playing, also enjoy sitting down with a good book. However, as times are changing and things are becoming more electronic. Actual books are not as prevalent and children don’t make as much time for reading. This is a good excuse to show children how fun it is to read a book and hold it in your hand.

It is a great time to help children re-experience the magic of imagination.

To build your own free little library, follow the project description link from HGTV. Dont’ forget to register the library on https://littlefreelibrary.org/.
